Bible Prophecies Fulfilled With Christ’s Crucifixion

byadmin

The crucifixion of Jesus Christ is a very prominent, well-known event in the history of Christianity. There are many passages in the Holy Bible that foretold the crucifixion of Christ. These are some of many Bible prophecies fulfilled over the course of history.

Psalm 41:9

This passage was written by King David in his last days on Earth. Here, he discussed the betrayal of a close friend that he had once shared bread with. Nearly 500 years later, Christ suffered betrayal at the hand of Judas just after the Last Supper. Following this betrayal Christ was crucified.

Zechariah 11:12-13

The betrayal is further discussed in this passage, where it is said a payment of thirty pieces of silver is given for betrayal. Judas is paid thirty pieces of silver almost 500 years later, and Judas gave away Christ’s most vulnerable place to be arrested.

Isaiah 50:6

This is one of several passages foretold by the prophet Isaiah that is fulfilled with the occurrence of Christ’s crucifixion. In this passage, it is foretold that Jesus will be beaten and spat upon. After Christ’s capture by the Romans, his captors subject him to abuse. They beat his back, pull his beard, and spit on him, as is foretold in this passage.

Isaiah 53:4-6

This is another of the Bible prophecies fulfilled by Christ’s crucifixion. In this, it is foretold that through Christ’s abuse, he remains silent. This is true. After capture and abuse at the hands of the Romans, Christ offers them his back to beat and his face to abuse and spit on, all while remaining silent.

Isaiah 53:7

This passage foretells the death of a servant as sacrifice for the sins of others. As is prophesized, Christ is sacrificed for the sins of his followers and their fellow mankind.

Zechariah 12:10

Another of the Bible prophecies fulfilled with Christ’s crucifixion is Zechariah 12:10. In this verse, the prophet predicts the mourning of the Jews of Jerusalem after someone is “pierced.” Their mourning is compared to that of one who has lost a first-born son.

Isaiah 53:12

This describes Jesus’ crucifixion very clearly. First, it is said that Jesus is “numbered with transgressor,” which is understood that he is severely outnumbered by his Roman captors. It is also prophesized that he will die alongside two sinners. This is fulfilled when Christ is crucified alongside two criminals.

Isaiah 53:9

This foretells of the sacrifice of someone who is without sin. This person is understood to mean Jesus Christ. He is hung along sinners to die and then buried in a wealthy tomb, which is also predicted by this passage. This is the final of the Bible prophecies fulfilled with Christ’s crucifixion.
